Reliability Testing
After any of the following tests, the product shall meet the acceptance criteria: no defects or degradation in appearance and electrical properties (except SPL); SPL shall not be lower than 10dB below the minimum SPL specified in the datasheet.
+80℃ storage for 96 hours, recover at room temperature for 3 hours before testing
Low Temperature Test
-40℃ storage for 96 hours, recover at room temperature for 3 hours before testing
Humidity Test
+40±3℃, 90%–95% RH, 48 hours, recover at room temperature for 6 hours before testing
Thermal Shock Test
70℃ 2 hours → -20℃ 2 hours (1 cycle), interval 1 hour between cycles, total 10 cycles
Drop Test
Standard packaging (3 edges, 6 faces of box), drop from 1.2m height onto thick wood board or 5cm hard wood board
Vibration Test
1000 cycles/min, amplitude 1.5mm, 1 hour per direction, 3 degrees of freedom
Caution: Avoid foreign materials entering the product, including magnetic materials, water-soluble materials, and corrosive gases, as these will affect the electrical performance of the product.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Does this buzzer require a PWM signal, or can it be driven with a simple DC voltage?
As a passive piezoelectric buzzer, MLT-1625 requires an external AC signal — typically a square wave or PWM at or near 4000Hz — to generate audible output. DC voltage alone will not produce sound.
2. What driving frequency is recommended for maximum sound pressure output?
Maximum SPL occurs at the resonant frequency of 4000Hz. SPL decreases significantly off resonance.
3. What is the recommended reflow soldering profile for this SMD buzzer?
MLT-1625 is compatible with standard SMD reflow processes. Contact MEIDI for the complete reflow profile specifications.
4. Are custom resonant frequencies or dimensions available?
Contact MEIDI for technical inquiries regarding custom configurations.
5. How does the piezoelectric construction affect long-term reliability?
Piezoelectric buzzers have no moving coil or magnetic components. Contact MEIDI for detailed reliability data.
